Foraging and Brewing are here

• Added Foraging as a brand new gathering skill.
• Added Brewing as a brand new production skill.
• Gather wild plants throughout Taria and turn them into useful brews as you level. Start with the flax fields south of the fletching table, and use the world map or the wiki to find the next flowers to pick.

Gathering overhaul

• Rocks, trees, fishing spots, flax and other gathering nodes are now personal to each player. Other players can no longer deplete (or grief) your resource.
• Gathering nodes now have their own durability bar and recover gradually while you're not using them.
• Higher skill levels and better tools are now more effective.
• Gathering is now done with the main action button. Stand near a rock, tree, fishing spot, farm debris or forageable plant and your Attack button changes to the right action.
• Missing tools, levels, bait or inventory space are now clearly explained when you try to gather.
• Teleporting while gathering now properly stops gathering.

Movement and loot

• Base movement speed has been increased by almost 2x.
• Drops from NPCs you killed can now be picked up just by walking over them.
• If your inventory is full, anything that doesn't fit stays on the ground and can still be picked up by hand.
• Ground loot now appears centered on where it actually dropped.

Farming

• Farming notifications now work anywhere, including while you're logged out.
• Every 15 minutes, farming notifications can combine updates for crops becoming ready, drying out, becoming diseased or dying.
• Clearing a dead crop now also clears its old compost and mulch, so the next crop starts with fresh soil.
• Compost and Mulch actions now move on to the next eligible crop automatically instead of doing nothing.
• Farms now use a new private instance system, removing the old limit on available farm plots.
• Reconnecting inside your farm now properly restores crop progress bars and nearby interactions.

Bank and inventory

• The bank now has an item details panel showing descriptions, bonuses, requirements and traits for the selected item.
• On web and desktop, Shift-click an item to deposit or withdraw all matching items.
• Toolbelt items now stay in their slots if a drag is rejected.
• Crafting progress now shows a compact countdown for the current batch.

World and exploration

• Row boats now ferry players between Port City and the nearby temple.
• Port City now has a ladder down into the Lizard Dungeon.
• Quest guide arrows now properly follow NPCs, interactable tiles and fixed destinations.
• Completing First Steps now points players toward Rowan's Fletching Shop and the optional By a Thread quest.

Quests and Tilly

• Optional quests can now be untracked, hiding their quest overlay and guide.
• Older quest saves now resume from the first unfinished step if a quest changes in an update. (And no longer crash the server, xD.)
• Correctly answering Tilly's math question now has a chance to reward two XP lamps.
• Tilly now waits until your previous lamp has been used before visiting again.

Chat and safety

• Public chat, private messages and guild chat now filter inappropriate language automatically, in multiple languages.
• Inappropriate character, pet, guild and guild tag names are now rejected.
• Taria Tips now have their own warm amber chat color, so they're easier to tell apart from guild chat.

Controls and quality of life

• New players now start at 75% game zoom. Existing players keep their current zoom.
• The mobile joystick is now locked in place by default for new players.
• Safe-area padding can now be adjusted in Settings.
• Phones stay locked to landscape, while supported tablets can rotate freely.
• Fixed eyes rendering over helmets.
• Crossbows from Iron through Emberite now have proper directional idle and firing animations.
• Players now face gathering and farming targets more naturally when interacting beside them.

Premium Store

• Gem packs now clearly show the exact Taria Token bonus members receive.
• Membership cards now show how many pet ability slots each tier includes.
• Shop headers now consistently show Gold, Gems and Taria Tokens.
• Membership bonuses, Founder rewards, referrals and future gameplay rewards now grant character-bound Taria Tokens.

Wiki

• Added a skill calculator with character lookup.
• Added browsable crafting recipes and equipment comparison.
• Added generated NPC shop pages.
• Added a zoomable world map with searchable NPC areas, fishing spots, mining locations, woodcutting patches and item-to-shop links.
• Wiki data such as recipes, shops, drops, requirements, potion effects and item information now comes straight from the same gameplay data the server uses.

Performance and fixes

• Improved performance by skipping unnecessary rendering of off-screen areas, effects and hitsplats.
• Reduced graphics memory use and asset download size without changing sprite quality.
• Fixed browser resizing causing WebGPU rendering errors.
• Fixed trees occasionally spawning double stumps.
• Fixed several iOS membership purchase and restore issues.
• Fixed several reconnect, farm, naming, interface and gathering issues.

Patch 2026.8.17 (August 17, 2026)

• Fixed single loot drops not being picked up when walked over.
• Fixed visual issues with farming statuses.
• Players now get a message when they try to attack with negative bonuses, showing which equipment is stopping them from hitting.
• Fixed some small map bugs.
• Fixed some NPCs missing from the Collection Log, or having missing text.
