The Combat Update
Hitsplats, working health potions, fairer combat, XP and levelling for Melee, Defense and Vitality, passive healing, and monsters that drop items.
Combat needed a lot of work, and still does (we're still missing magic and archery and loads of other stuff). But this update was a huge step in the right direction and makes it actually usable.
- We now have hitsplats! Hitsplats are color coded: blue = block, red = damage, green = healing (this might become poison damage in the future though).
- Health potions now work.
- Combat is more balanced: NPCs no longer one-shot you.
- You can now gain XP and level up!
- Level up Melee by doing damage, and level up Defense and Vitality by blocking damage.
- Fixed HP bars for both players and NPCs.
- Your health will now passively heal over time.
- Improved player hit range to avoid missing NPCs you're standing on when swinging your sword.
- NPCs now drop items.
- Removed iron armor from the starter kit. This will be craftable later on.
- Added an update timer system.
- Did some things to make Google happy (minified APK, 16 KB page sizes, typical nerd stuff).
- Fixed an issue with a hidden Sign in with Apple button being clickable.
